Forum at the Forum
Design VII, Fall 2004, Rome, Italy

Exploration of artificial landscapes imposed on the Roman Forum, one of the early cultural precedents for western planning. Series of flexible follies, objects and networks were added to the site, providing programmatic response to inevitable needs and services of modern city, which cur-rently tend to occur, instead of being designed for. The historical area that has been in a status quo ever since it’s recovery has existed since as an archeological site, not as a part of the urban fabric. The proposition is to redevelop the area as a park that highlights its historical value and provides a strategy for future urbanization.
